TEEN TAKEOVER
Event Planning - Brand Identify - Marketing - Promotion - Concept
As the Art Director, I led the curation, planning, and execution of the highly successful Teen Takeover event, themed around the vibrant Y2K and early 2000s era. Designed to recruit teens for the clubhouse’s Arts, Athletics, Education, and Workforce Development programs, the event drew 150 teens from multiple high schools in the Queens area, blending nostalgia and creativity into an unforgettable experience.
I conceptualized and designed the event’s brand identity, ensuring all creative materials—including flyers, t-shirts, and badges—reflected the iconic Y2K aesthetic. From bold typography to holographic-inspired visuals, every detail captured the essence of the early 2000s while aligning with the clubhouse’s branding standards.
Beyond design, I oversaw the organization and logistics, ensuring all activities followed the theme. Event highlights included a live DJ spinning early 2000s hits, a photo booth with retro props, and creative stations such as custom hat painting, a cartoonist, a DIY accessory room, and a mocktail bar. Food stations, including Panda Express and candy-themed tables, added to the nostalgic charm, creating a fully immersive experience for attendees.
By combining artistic vision, strategic planning, and hands-on leadership, I delivered an event that not only celebrated the Y2K aesthetic but also successfully engaged teens, showcased clubhouse programs, and strengthened ties within the Queens community.
Program Recruitment
Before the conclusion of our event, I presented a video that I personally recorded and edited, designed to engage both our Teen members and guests. The video offered a visual reflection of the achievements and experiences that defined the past school year, as well as the enriching summer break under my leadership and vision. By showcasing our collective growth, impactful activities, and the supportive community we've built, the video not only celebrated our successes but also emphasized the unique value of being a part of our program. It aimed to inspire continued participation and attract new members by providing a heartfelt glimpse into the journey we’ve shared and the exciting possibilities ahead.
